The Winged Victory of Somothrace, or Nike of Somothrace has been in The Louvre since 1884. Created in approximately the 2nd century BC, it is one of the most celebrated sculptures in the world and is a motif that crops up in my work from time to time.
This artwork is priced according to Artist Support Pledge. Matthew Burrows launched the Artist Support Pledge on Instagram to support artists throughout the pandemic.The idea is simple: Artists who commit to the pledge will post images of a work that's for sale, for no more than £200 ($230), and each time their sales reach £1,000 ($1,155) they promise to buy another artist's work for £200.
